Ernest Franklin Kanupp

Ernest Franklin Kanupp, age 86, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Novant Health Medical Center in Huntersville, NC. Born in Catawba County on September 28, 1928, he was the son of the late Floyd Franklin Kanupp and Ollie Cline Kanupp. He was a member of Lake Norman Lutheran Church in Denver, NC and was a Master Sargeant in the NC Air National Guard.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 years, Mary Bowman Kanupp; son, Larry Kanupp and wife, Theresa, of Harwich, MA; daughter, Sharon Kanupp Malmberg of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Dana Kanupp, Eric Malmberg, Austin Malmberg, and Morgan Malmberg.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Lake Norman Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 with Rev. Jeff Marquardt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hickory with the family serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Norman Lutheran Church, 1445 Hwy 16 North, Denver, NC 28037 or to your favorite charity.
