Frances Louise Sigmon Fox

Frances Louise Sigmon Fox, age 96, of Conover, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born January 8, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Ardy Olen Sigmon and Minnie Pearl Lail Sigmon. She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Conover and worked in the hosiery industry. Frances most enjoyed being a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Guy Sylvester Fox; brothers, Thomas Olen Sigmon, Harold Hugh Sigmon; and infant sister, Helen Clark Sigmon.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Patricia Fox Roark and husband, Bill, of Conover; son, Larry Olen Fox of Conover; sister, Doris Sigmon Hefner of Conover; brother, Glen Sigmon and wife, Ruth, of the Lutheran Home in Hickory; grandchildren, Jennifer Fox, Lisa Roark Lackey, Dr. Anthony Fox, William Roark Jr.; great-grandchildren, Mark Alex Whisnant, Aidan Fox, Tiffany Hathaway, Analese Fox, Jakob Lackey, and Brennan Fox.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. Lonny McSherley and Rev. Peggy Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the church.
