Frances Maxine Setzer Shook

She was born on November 28, 2015 in Catawba County to the late Homer Setzer and Mary Davidson Setzer. Mrs. Shook was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Newton and retired after 40 years of service from Shuford Mills.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lee Shook, and a brother, Donald Ray Setzer.

Mrs. Shook is survived by her son, Michael L. Shook and wife, Jackie of Conover; brothers, Neil Setzer and wife, Carolyn, and Randy Setzer of Charlotte; sisters, Evelyn Setzer of Newton, Millie Settlemyre and husband, Joe of Newton; sister-in-law, Shirley Settlemyre Setzer of Catawba; grandchildren, Andrea Brawley and husband, Jason of Conover, and Baron Shook of Conover; great-grandchildren, Laurel Mackenzie Brawley, Jason Ray Brawley, Jr., William Nathaniel Brawley, Charles Michael Brawley, and Mason Lee Shook; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church in Newton with Reverend Brant Hoots officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the church.

The family of Mrs. Shook would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Abernethy Laurels for their kindness and compassionate care given to Frances.

Her son, Michael and his family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to her sister, Millie Settlemyre and husband, Joe for the countless hours caring for Frances.
