She was born January 3, 1961 in Catawba County to Mary Jean “Annas” Goodman and the late Carroll Eugene Goodman. Jan was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover and was a graduate of Newton-Conover High school. She continued her education at Lenoir Rhyne University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Master’s. Jan retired from North Mecklenburg High School as a Guidance Counselor. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Jessica Carol Gibson and Elizabeth Louise Gibson, both of Conover, NC; and a grandson, Dalton Blake Gibson of Conover, NC.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover with Rev. Dr. Ed Yount officiating. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.
