Joanne Moser

It is with great sorrow the family of Joanne Chastain Moser announces her passing on Monday December 1, 2025. Joanne was born to the late Julian Charles Chastain and Margaret Louise Chastain on July 27, 1947 in Hickory, NC.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L Moser, son Jay Fox, brothers Charles Chastain, Ken Chastain, and Ira Lee Chastain, and sisters Colleen Kanipe, and Shirley Deal.

Those left to cherish Joanne’s memory are her son Jamie Fox, granddaughters Stacey Eckard (Thomas) and Shelby Cope (Steven), and her beloved Yorkie, Lulu.

Joanne graduated high school at Hickory High and went on to Catawba Valley Community College for business. Joanne worked for IFH for 32 years where she became the 1st female sales rep, by 40 she was the 1st female buyer within the company. When she was 62 she retired from IFH as an account manager.

Joanne was an inspiration to anyone who knew her. She was strong, brave, and independent, and when she set goals she would achieve them. She loved jokes and making people laugh. Joanne had the biggest heart and loved her family dearly. One of her proudest moments was being a mother and grandmother, and a wife to her sweety, Ken.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM on Monday December 15, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church, 324 2nd Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28601.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on December 15, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church, 324 2nd Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28601. Officiating will be reverend’s Alec Fisher and David Ludwig. Burial will follow at St. Mark's Cemetery in Claremont, NC.
