

In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Setzer; sisters, Frances Shook and Evelyn Setzer.
Neil was a devoted husband for over 60 years. He also was a loving father and grandfather. He was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover where he served as a deacon, choir member, and served the Lord in various other ways. He served in the National Guard and retired from Yellow Freight. He enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn, farming, and any outside yard work. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and he could often be found drinking coffee at 4 Peas in Conover. He enjoyed fellowshipping with others at Rocks Springs and Balls Creek Campgrounds.
Those left to cherish Neil’s memory are his wife, Carolyn Setzer; daughters, Misty Cline and husband Jeffrey, Megan Fuller and husband Ben; brother, Randy Setzer; sister, Millie Settlemyre; grandchildren, Ethan Cline, Eden Cline, Gavin Fuller, and Gracie Fuller.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 440 7th St. Pl SW, Conover. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church. A private burial will be held at Catawba Memorial Park, 3060 US Hwy 70 SE, Hickory.
