Lillian Marjorie Jones Setzer

Lillian Marjorie Jones Setzer, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at home. Born January 5, 1922, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late George Grover Jones and Duvall Virginia Setzer Jones.

Lillian worked for 22 years as a lab technician for Dr. John Sinnett. After retirement she was a docent for the Catawba County Historical Museum in Newton.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Ned Clifton Setzer; brother, Malcolm Jones; sister, Dorothy Jones; and brother in-law, Thomas Winn.

Those left to cherish her memory are son, Gary C. Setzer of Newton; daughters, Priscilla Setzer Stephens and husband, Ronald of Stanfield, NC, and Trudye G. Setzer of Claremont; sister, Celesta Jones Winn; sister in-law, Barbara Laws Jones; grandchildren, Tamara Stephens Williams and husband, Mire of Stanfield, NC, Colby C. Setzer and wife, Johnna of Quitman, Arkansas, and Stuart Setzer and wife, Brianna of Woodleaf, NC; great-grandchildren, Blake Williams, Braxton Williams, Saige Setzer and Lincoln Setzer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont with Pastor Dennis Marshall

officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. Burial will follow at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
