Born April 23, 1938 in Escambia County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Vergie Gibson. Mrs. Weathers was a member of Balls Creek Baptist Church and had worked for Joan Fabrics as an inspector.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Larry Weathers; sons, James Harold Davis, Thomas Steven Dixon, and Charles Jeffrey Dixon; daughters, Joanie Lee Dixon and Christy Baker; her inseparable adopted son, Devin Micha Winstead; brother, Johnny Gibson; sisters, Hazel Wallace and Linda Arrowood; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Pastor Chuck Winters officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
