

He was born October 30, 1924 in Brownsville, TX.
After a successful career in the military and the federal government, he retired and in 2010, he and his longtime companion, Juanita Rodriguez, moved from San Antonio, TX to Hickory, NC to be close to his daughters, Margaret (Maggie) Gervais and Mary Ann Knox of Conover, NC.
During WWII, Trevino was in combat with the 45th Infantry Division (Thunderbirds) fighting the German army in Italy and France. He participated in the fighting at the Anzio Beachhead until after the liberation of Rome, Italy. He also saw action in Southern France. Subsequently, he was captured by the Germans and incarcerated in a POW camp. He later escaped and made his way back to his Infantry Division. For gallantry in action, Trevino was awarded the Silver Star. His other decorations include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Force Commendation, Prisoner of War Medal, and Good Conduct Medals.
Trevino is a Mason; a member of the VFW, American Legion, and POW associations. First and foremost, he was a soldier. He was also Daddy to Margaret and Mary Ann; soul mate to the love of his life, Juanita G. Rodriguez; Papa to Krissy, Scotty, and Ricky; Tio to Felix, Hector, Tony, and Rudy Garza as well as Olga Shanahan, Ofelia Garcia, and Olivia Perkins. Karon Trevino, the Mother of his daughters, preceded him to our heavenly Father.
We are forever proud of you, Daddy, and you will forever be in our hearts.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
