Ruby Pauline Hedrick

Ruby Pauline Lail Hedrick, age 86, of Conover, NC, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born February 23, 1931 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Rance Molly Lail and Lunda Lovella Lafone Lail.

Ruby was of the Lutheran faith. She was a doll collector and enjoyed gospel music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Emery Hedrick; brothers, Floyd Everett Lail and Willard Odell Lail; and sisters, Catherine Rosalee Wilson and Margie Victoria Sigmon.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane Van Horn and husband, Mick of Conover, Judy Stephens and husband, Rick of Longview; brothers, Junior Rance Lail of Conover, Carl Edwards Lail of Conover; sisters, Joanne L. Bolick of Conover; grandchildren, Shawn Van Horn, Jason Van Horn, Jamie Stephens, and Ashley Winston; great-grandchildren, Brandon Van Horn, Bryson Van Horn, Amberly Rose Van Horn, Payton Rooks, and Noah Rooks.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, NC, with the Rev. Thurman Roe officiating. The family will receive friends at Drum Funeral Home in Conover, NC prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
