Virginia Donaldson Benfield

A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Emma Donaldson.

Virginia was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover, NC where she lived before moving to Gastonia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Paul E. Benfield; brother, Thomas Queen; sister, Mary Ellen Donaldson; and a son-in-law, Chick Saine.

She is survived by her four children; Darrel Benfield and wife, Jannie, Becky Benfield Saine, Sarah Benfield Baucom and husband, Bill, and Stephen Benfield and wife, Suzanne; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover with Pastor Brian Correll officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 at the church.

Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Saine, Andy Saine, Wesley Saine, David Benfield, Chris Benfield, Mark Benfield, and Brian Benfield.
