

Vivian grew up in Newton and was the daughter of the late Leonard Cruse and Suella Coulter Cruse.
In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Little.
Vivian was married to the late John Watt Jordan. She and John Watt raised their two sons in Conover where they had a loving home and lots of family time. She and John Watt were blessed with many adventures. They loved to travel and have lots of fun. After the passing of John Watt, she later married the late Gary Knight. She and Gary also loved to travel and were blessed to have each other’s companionship.
Vivian worked at the YMCA in Conover for many years. She got to know so many people while working there. She loved to teach water aerobics.
After leaving the YMCA, she began working with the City of Newton. She continued to make friendships while being employed there. One highlight during this time was when her late husband, John Watt won a trip to Barcelona, Spain while the Olympics were being held.
Vivian retired from the City of Newton and began enjoying traveling and socializing.
She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she enjoyed being with the youth of the church. She was able to go on several mission trips with them. Vivian also enjoyed attending Leisure Timers and having fun. She thoroughly enjoyed being at Camp Linn Haven with her friends and church family.
Vivian was blessed with having some wonderful caregivers during her decline in health. The friendships and love that they gave her was such a blessing to her and her family.
Those left to cherish Vivian’s memory are her sons, Sam Jordan of Conover, Joe Jordan and wife, Amanda of Newton; granddaughter, Madison Jordan; great granddaughter, Raelynn of Conover; grandsons, Brady Jordan and wife, Abbi of Newton, Brett Jordan and fiancé, Natalie Link of Statesville; nephew, Mark Little; niece, Amy Little Landis and husband Chad Landis; and great niece Macy Landis.
Vivian also had many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Vivian enjoyed spending her last few years with special friend, Danny Hefner and other close friends that shared good times and lots of laughter.
A Receiving of Friends will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Drum Funeral Home Chapel, 509 1st Ave South, Conover.
A Funeral Service for Vivian will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 216 5th Ave SE, Conover with Reverend Michael Geml officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery, 23 S. Brady Ave, Newton.
