Alvin Jan Crews

Alvin Jan Crews, 68, of Lake Conroe, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was born on January 7, 1944 to Alvin Rufus and Viola Crews while they were stationed in Waukegan, Illinois with the U.S. Navy. After graduating from Texas Tech University Jan also joined the U. S. Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After becoming a CPA and many years in the construction industry he retired as CFO with E.E. Reed Construction Company. Jan loved his family, friends and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Conroe.

Jan is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Beth Crews; daughters Jennifer Taylor and husband Andy and Laura Bernshausen and husband Dean; brother Larry F. Crews and wife Kathy, grandchildren Emma Bernshausen, Jacob Taylor, Madelyn Taylor and Orby Taylor; great-grandchild Kayla Riley Taylor and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with visitation one hour before. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
