

Barbara Janette Green was born on February 17, 1938, and passed away on September 5, 2015 in Conroe, Texas. Barbara was born in Pasadena, Texas to A.B. and Velma Compton. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1956 and then attended the Lilly Jolly School of Nursing, graduating in 1959. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Memorial Baptist Hospital and other various clinics. She later worked as a school nurse at Conroe High School for 29 years and then at CC Hardy Intermediate in Willis for 6 years before retiring. On October 24, 1959, she married James A. Green in Pasadena, Texas. They settled in Conroe in 1965. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grand children and great grandchildren. She was involved with the Montgomery County Fair for 40 years and particularly enjoyed supporting the Special Education show and auction. She loved her fair family and spending time as a volunteer, helping in any way she could. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents A.B. and Velma Compton, brother; Bruce Compton, sister; Darlene Compton, and grand daughter; Heather Amanda Baxter. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James “Jim” Green, son; Brad Green and wife Nann, son; Todd Green and wife Patti, daughter; Dana Baxter and husband Claude, grandchildren; James Green, Cari Green, Kacey Green, Cody Green, Briana Frederiksen and husband Josh, Hailey Baxter and fiancé Brad Henry, great-grandchildren; Branson and Tucker Frederiksen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Texas Children’s Hospital, and/or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Serving as pallbearers will be the Montgomery County Fair Association’s Special Projects Committee. A visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral Service for Barbara Janette Green will be held at the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00am with interment following at Conroe Memorial Park.
