Becky Ann (Nanny) Crow, age 68, passed away peacefully April, 21, 2020. She was born February 20, 1952 in Tombstone AZ to Mac and Evelyn McIlvain. She met her future husband Ken Crow in Rush Springs, Oklahoma in her uncle's and grandmother's (Nanny) coffee shop. He was preparing to leave for Vietnam at the time. After Ken got out of the Army, she and Ken eloped and were married in Las Vegas, NV and are married 49 years two months.
She was preceded in death by her father C.L. “Mac”, “Junior” McIlvain, her mother Evelyn McIlvain both of Willis, TX and her brother, Teddy Pyle of Weatherford, OK.
She is survived by her husband Ken Crow of Willis, Texas and four children, three grandchildren and two foster children that have also been a part of her life. Cory Crow and wife Linda, Houston. Trista Shroff of League City and two grandsons who she loves dearly, Andrew and Lucas Shroff, Casey Crow of Houston and one granddaughter Sophie who is her absolute delight. Tana Loring and husband Casey Loring, Oak Ridge. Tana and Casey fostered a little boy, Kyle who she loves deeply, and currently Liam who she also loves deeply. She has one niece, Kathy Conrad, Springfield Missouri. She has one dog, Divot who misses her terribly.
Becky was born in Tombstone where her father was in the military at Fort Huachuca. After his military service concluded, they moved to OK where Mac was a FFA teacher. He then moved to Hoxie in NW Kansas where he was Superintendent of Schools at Hoxie ISD. Becky attended and graduated from Hoxie schools.
After Ken and Becky married, they lived in Weatherford, OK where he graduated in 1974. Becky and Ken lived in various oil centers over their lives, Houston, Tulsa, Giddings, Midland and back to Houston. Along the way they added Cory in Duncan, OK, Trista and Casey in Tulsa Ok and Tana in Midland Texas. Tana is the only child born outside of OK. So on a visit to OK, Ken brought back a bag of OK red dirt and placed it under the delivery table when she was born in Midland. At least she was born over OK soil.
Becky loved people. She had too many friends to list here but was especially fond of her Sunday School class and her teacher Mrs. Jane Brown. She loved to make birthday cards for the members of her church, First United Methodist Church of Willis. If asked she is Baptist by faith but loved the members of FUMC Willis.
Becky had certain friends that were friends for a very long time or had special connections. Marilyn Hoover (deceased), Albuquerque, NM. Marilyn accompanied Becky when she eloped with Ken and was the bridesmaid and witness. Sherry Brooks (and husband Gale), Overland Park, KS. Sherry was a lifelong friend way back to grade school. They have kept contact all these years and have enjoyed the quilt festival in Houston numerous times. Rhonda Dennis (and husband Jim), Tulsa, OK. Ken and Jim worked at Texaco in Tulsa in the late 70s. Rhonda and Becky had children born near the same time and both our families developed a very great and long lasting friendship. Sunnie Johnston, Willis. Sunnie and Becky sew and do arts and crafts. They have a special weird relationship that involves crochet needles, yarn, sewing machines, thread, and other silly things.
Becky loved her family and was fiercely devoted to them.
She enjoyed travelling and visited New York, Las Vegas, Lisbon, and Paris with her children. She also loved to cruise. Ken, Becky, Trista, Andrew and Lucas have taken several cruises to Belize, Costa Maya, Honduras and to Alaska. We, as a group, entered almost every game on the ship and often won. We won shuffleboard several times.
She greatly enjoyed our timeshare at Table Rock Landing near Eureka Springs Arkansas. She always invited all the kids and we would spend a week cooking out, playing miniature golf, swimming, shopping, hiking and other fun things.
Private family funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church Willis, followed by burial in Garden Park Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers please donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
