Bryce Coleman Cain

Bryce earned a B.A. in Speech Communication and Sociology from Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA). It was at SFA where he met the love of his life, Heidi Kathleen Rice, and they were married on July 28, 2001. Bryce used his talent in communication as a certified teacher and taught special needs students in several school districts across Texas. He was a dedicated pastor’s “wife” and especially enjoyed Heidi’s assignments in East Texas. He served selflessly at each church in any capacity needed from janitor to usher. Bryce was an Eagle Scout and abided by a Boy Scout mantra “Always leave a place better than you found it” at every opportunity he had to camp and enjoy the great outdoors. Bryce and Heidi participated in two life-changing mission trips to Kenya helping those in need in Maua. Other hobbies included gardening, listening to NPR, making people laugh and playing with his beloved DAMN Cat, Cotton.

Bryce was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Louis F. & Cassie Cain and maternal grandparents Trevis S. & Ruth Keck. Bryce is survived by his wife of 16 years, Reverend Heidi Kathleen Cain; parents Gerald & Delora Cain; sister Christie Cain Petrie and husband Jim; niece Kelsey Petrie Bratcher and husband Austin; nephew Trey Petrie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Bryce’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 9 at 10:30am in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Conroe (4308 W. Davis Street, Conroe TX 77304 --- fumc-conroe.org).
