

Carol Ann Clary passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She lived 80 memorable years. A native of New Orleans, her family moved frequently due to her father’s military career. She spoke French and some German. She was the Sunbeam Bread girl and graduated from Clover Park High School in Tacoma, WA. She worked towards medical degrees throughout her life. She always made the honor roll and was listed in Who’s Who. Carol worked many jobs over her lifetime. She was a registered real estate agent in Omaha, NE, a credit union teller in Yellowstone and a claims agent for United Health Care.
Carol and her husband Ben served the National Park Service for 40 years. She met Ben in Mount Rainier and they moved frequently. The parks they resided in include: Carlsbad, Big Bend, Navajo, Olympic, San Francisco, Mount Rainier, Curecanti, Chickasaw, Padre Island, Canyon De Chelly, Lake Mead, Padre Island, Great Smoky Mountains, Omaha Midwest Regional Office, Yellowstone, Voyageurs and Ozark National Scenic Riverway. In 2001, they retired and moved to Texas to watch their grandsons grow up. Carol had a passion for swimming, golfing and feeding the ducks. She loved her dog, BB and cat, Blue and was known for taking them on drives around the community in her golf cart. She relished friendships developed through golf, bridge and her neighborhood.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, of 58 years; her parents, John and Ann Hoffman; and her brother, Jack. She is survived by her daughters, Jill and Michelle; her brother, Bob; and four grandchildren, Benton, Daniel, Serena and Corben. She will be laid to rest at Forest Park in the Woodlands. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to either Susan G Komen (komen.org) or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (bcrf.org).
