

Charles graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Business Administration. His degree took him into a career as an accountant with Exxon Mobil from 1977 until 2002. In 2002 Charles retired from that position and moved from the Conroe area into Lindale, Texas. He and his wife Linda spent a decade there before moving to Willis in 2012, all the while doing accounting jobs along the way. Charles is a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. He was a very active member of the Conroe Church of Christ where he supported teaching children’s Bible classes. He was an avid runner who ran the Houston Marathon in his late 40s, and continued to workout and stay physically fit as recent as last week. Charles loved spending time with his grandchildren, traveling with his wife, and spent time caring for his mother.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Melton Weterfeld and sister Sandra Phillips. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda Westerfeld, children Blake Westerfeld and his wife Sabrina, Kristin O’Hair and husband Joel, grandchildren, Paige and Addison Westerfeld and Logan, Max, and Collin O’Hair.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Conroe Church of Christ with visitation to begin at 9:00 a.m. Burial will conclude in the Perry Cemetery on Grant Road in Houston, Texas at 1:00 p.m.
