

Charles Donald Williams, passed away at the age of 99, on December 23, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born to Louis and Janie Williams in Marlin, Texas, on October 11, 1926.
Charles served honorably in the U.S. Marines during WW II, and upon his return from the service, he returned to Huntsville, Texas to attend Sam Houston State University where he received a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Education.
While at Sam Houston, Charles played football and was lovingly called “Roughouse” where he earned several achievements, awards, and recognition for All-American and College Who’s Who.
After graduation, Charles was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and because of a neck injury, he returned to the Houston area where he began his career in coaching and teaching in several school districts, after which, he started working for State Farm Insurance Company from which retired as an Agency Manager.
Charles was in the Bearkat Hall of Honor, the President of the Letterman’s Association, and was a lifetime member of Sam Houston State University.
Charles was a member of The Woodlands Methodist Church, Throughout his life, Charles was active in community affairs, known as a mentor, admired, loved, respected by anyone who knew him. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards with his friends at River Plantation County Club, and loved to garden in his later years.
Charles was an honorable gentleman who loved life, lived it to the fullest, enjoyed and loved his family and friends. A life well lived.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Janie Williams, his sister, Marilyn Austin, brothers, Louis, James, Frank, and Quinn Williams, sons, Don and Tommy Williams, Troy McQuain, and granddaughter Jacquelynn Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda, daughter Kaye (Jim) Newell, son, Kevin (Debra) McQuain, grandchildren, Paul and Cole( Shea) Williams, Marie (Chris) Hodgdon, Allen (Brandy) Williams, Wesley (Lynsey)Williams, Carrie Daffin, Rachel (Joe) Tabuya, Sara (Matt) Craig, Mariam Newell, Justin (Kalyn) McQuain, Jerrod (Erin) McQuain, Lauren (Matt) Shaw, great-grandchildren Koula, Malie, and Makena Tabuya, Aiden, Caitlyn, Ethan Hodgdon, Brooke Williams, Scarlett and Tony Williams, Sarah and Vance Daffin, Matthew, Jackson, and Charli Craig, Melanie Williams, Presley, Aubrey, Peyton, Hadyn, and Adelyn McQuain, Ford & Palmer Shaw, great-great-grandchildren, Leilah Griffin, Amy and John Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at The Woodlands Methodist Church located at 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, Texas on Friday, January 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
A reception will follow the service at Jones Library.
Graveside services with full military honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, The Woodlands, Texas.
