Charlotte was a native Houstonian and proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, class of 1959. She was particularly proud of her time with the Scottish Brigade in her role as a Top Sergeant. She attended Sam Houston State, during which time she met her soon to be husband, Perry. Together they enjoyed Corvettes as founding members of the San Jacinto Corvette Club, and boating on the San Jacinto River all while raising their son, “Hap”. They lived in Houston, Pasadena, Baytown, Highlands, Lake Jackson, Galveston, and finally in Kingwood. Charlotte loved decorating her homes, gardening, and playing with her dogs and cat. She LOVED to shop wherever she lived, and it was usually for gifts to her loved ones. She and Perry enjoyed traveling with family and friends including trips to Europe, and cruises in the Caribbean and Alaska. Perry was a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and Charlotte loved dressing up to go out to the events. Charlotte worked in various positions at Surety Savings, Brazosport College Library, Jahn-Galveston Insurance, Zaisan, RCA, and retired from Northeast Medical Center. She made friends all along the way, and everywhere she lived. Her loved ones enjoyed being her “sugar” and her grandkids loved their “Grammie”.
She is survived by her son Perry and his wife, Terrie; granddaughter Emily Faught, her husband Clint, and their son Quinn; granddaughter Hannah Bruno, her husband Johnny, and their daughters Alice and Scarlett.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a future time. Those wishing to honor her memory can do so by donating to any animal rescue or similar charity in her name.
