David Perry Doss

Memorial services for David Perry Doss will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00am at Conroe Church of Christ with Steve Yates and Mark Abshier officiating. The family would like to invite friends and family to a reception at the home of Mrs. Doss on Tuesday evening, June 21, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. David was born February 19, 1940 in Brilliant, Alabama to David and Cynthia Doss and entered into rest on June 18, 2011 in Conroe, Texas. David lived in Maryland for 30 years before residing in Conroe, TX the past 6 years. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. He was employed by the U.S. Dept of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service where he served 43 years of employment in various states including: Alabama, Georgia, Washington, D.C and Maryland. Most recently, David was the Director of NRCS in the state of Maryland. David was a member of the Conroe Church of Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sue Doss of Conroe, TX; son, Gregory Doss of San Diego, CA; daughter, Starla Shinn and husband Steve of Conroe, TX; grandson, Joey Shinn of Conroe, TX; nephew, Floyd Doss of Birmingham, AL. David is preceded in death by his parents, David and Cynthia Doss and by his brother, Reese Doss. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of David to Conroe Church of Christ, “Share the Vision Fund” or to the Youth Program at Conroe Church of Christ, 1860 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX 77304.
