

David Earl Fleming was born in Cleburne, TX on November 8, 1940 and passed away on November 29, 2017 following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Sylvester Fleming, his mother, Vera Corine (Wilson) Fleming, sister, Velda LaRue Oser and brother, Gwenneth Dwayne Fleming.

Following the death of his dad, in 1947, his family moved to Cameron, TX. He and his mother moved to Pasadena, TX in 1953 where he attended Southmore Junior High School. He attended Pasadena High School and graduated in 1959. After marrying and a couple of children, in 1964, he went to work for USI Chemical Co. He retired as a Lab Technician in 2000 after 36 years of service. He married Nita on December 8, 1989 and was married for 28 years. For the last few years, he was employed with Cashner Funeral Home.
David was a faithful Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid song leader and loved the word of God. He was baptized into the Lord’s Body as a young man and never looked back. He was determined that his family be active in the Church and diligently saw to it that they were there when the doors were open. He was known for his beautiful bass voice and his love for singing, especially song leading. He was very active throughout his life attending singings and Gospel Meetings when an area congregation was hosting. He was involved in the startup of two congregations over the years being a charter member of the Pasadena Church of Christ and a charter/current member of the College Park Church of Christ in Conroe, TX.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the College Park Church of Christ. Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the College Park Church of Christ. For more information, feel free to call 281-414-5735.
