He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Kathy Joann Hargett, his sister Sandra Hargett, and his brother Michael Hargett.
He is survived by his daughters Laci Albanese and her husband Dustin of Beaumont, Texas and Kari Sprague and her husband Jared of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren, Averie (14), Emily (11), Anna (7), Jaxson (4), and Judson (1); niece Amy Hargett of Blountville, TN; dear friend Cory Fertig of Houston, Texas.
David was a kind and generous man, as well as a talented guitar player. He was also a loyal friend. David loved the beach and spent his final moments enjoying golf cart rides and sunsets at Bolivar Peninsula.
A graveside funeral will be held on Monday, October 17 at 11:00am at Antioch Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.
