Doris married the love of her life, Monroe Tyler, on May 14,1955. Doris was a devoted Christian and a 65+ year member of Mims Baptist Church. She was a kind and gentle soul and devoted her life to her family. Doris was a first-grade teacher with Conroe ISD for twenty years. She was named Elementary Teacher of the Year in 1993, the year she retired. She loved to travel, play games, visit lifelong friends and be with her family. She cherished Sundays, as it was church day and family meal/game day. Whether she believed it or not she was the most competitive person in the family and loved playing games with her grandsons and winning. She loved watching sports and yelling at the television about who should be doing what or why did they missed that shot. We will miss her winning smile and loving arms.
Doris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty-nine years, Monroe Tyler. She is survived by her three children: Cindy Tyler Hoffman and husband Roy of The Woodlands, TX, Bruce Tyler of Conroe, TX, and Linda Beck of Overland Park, KS. She is survived by grandchildren: Adam Hoffman, Chance Tyler, and Justin Tyler, great grandchildren: Maddison Tyler, and Kinlynn Tyler. She is also survived by brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Ruby and Bob Cwalenski and Gene and Glenda Tyler, as well as numerous nephews and nieces and special grand-daughters-in-law: Katrina Tyler and Karleigh Mercer.
