Georgia Husbands was born in Beaumont on August 11,1930 and died peacefully in Conroe on October 14, 2022. A graduate of Lamar University, she held degrees in Biology and Chemistry and greatly enjoyed her work in medical technology. She was a charter member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church Houston, and a First Baptist Church Conroe member of 51 years.
Georgia's life foundation lay in her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She always knew and taught that no matter how hard the times, God's grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9.) She enjoyed many mission and charity activities, Sunday School attending and teaching, and supporting many Baptist youth activities through the years. She never tired of hosting, housing, feeding, and socializing with every friend, relative, and dog that she loved.
Living through WWII as a young girl, Georgia had a great perspective on history and was an avid election follower and registered voter. She especially liked American presidential history and visiting presidential libraries. As a young girl, she loved seeing Franklin Roosevelt in person and waving to him in Luling, Texas at the train station. A wonderful cook, hostess, and seamstress, Georgia enjoyed showing hospitality to friends and charitable endeavors to feed the hungry. She was a longtime volunteer at First Baptist Library, the Assistance League, and the county American Heart Association as a past board member.
Georgia is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Sam, and their infant son. She is survived by daughter Terry and husband Mark, granddaughters Katharine Galindo (Scott) and Laura Frank (Chris), son John and wife LuAnne, granddaughters Helen London (Chris), Julia Driver (Jonathon), Susanna Husbands, and several nieces and nephews. Georgia is also survived by her greatest joy in six great- grandchildren: Georgia Elisabeth, Mark and Daniel Galindo, James and Emilia Driver, and Charles London.
