

Gloria Mulcahy Skelton was born February 25, 1923 in Seguin, TX to John MacMurray Mulcahy and Eleanor Wright Mulcahy of Center Point, TX. She passed away August 17, 2017 in Kingwood, TX. Gloria grew up during the Great Depression and graduated from Center Point High School in 1940. After high school she attended San Marcos State Teachers College and married 1st Lt. Navigator Jesse Daniel Skelton of the U.S. Army Air Corps Transport Command during World War II on May 21, 1944 in Wichita, KS. Dan and Gloria were married 60 years and had three daughters: Janet Wood, Linda Renner, and Karen Mai.
Gloria worked for the U.S. Army Air Corps at the San Antonio Aviation Cadet Center from 1941-1944.
She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church Tulsa, OK, Tallowood Baptist Church Houston, Walden Community Church, Montgomery United Methodist Church, and Kingwood United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. Asa and Susan Wright of San Antonio, TX and Sylvester and Mattie Mulcahy of Sequin, TX., parents John MacMurray and Eleanor Mulcahy, husband Jessie Daniel Skelton, daughter Karen Mai, and brothers Myron and Glenn Mulcahy.
She is survived by daughters Janet Wood and Linda Renner; Grandchildren: Glenn Wood and wife Michelle, Paige May and husband Ron, Clint Wood and wife Carol, Wrynn Homann and husband Scott, Shane Clark, Scott Renner, Josh Clark, and Caleb Clark. Great grandchildren: Ethan, Jay and Brie Wood, Preston, Chase and Tucker May, Dayton Wood, Sadie and Beckett Homann, Elena and Kyle Renner. Numerous other family members and friends are also left to treasure her memory.
Visitation is Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Metcalf Funeral Directors from 4pm-6pm. The Celebration of Life is Monday, August 21 at Kingwood United Methodist Church at 11am with interment at Memorial Oak Cemetery at 2:30pm.
