Guy Griscom worked for me at the Harris County Appraisal District for more than 20 years and had the most thorough understanding of the appraisal process of anyone I have ever known.  He also had a unique ability to impart that understanding and knowledge to others and will be remembered as a premire instructor of the appraisal art.

Guy's contributions to the appraisal profession resulted in worldwide recognition as evidenced by his election to the presidency of the International Association of Assessing Officers--a post he served in with distinction.

My condolences go to his wife, sons, and other family members.  His work to improve both accuracy and equity in the property tax system will live on through those he so expertly trained.

I could fill volumes of books with what I learned from my Dad! He taught me how to be a good man, showed me what it was to be a present and great father! He showed me what it is to be a loving husband! He was always there when I needed him! Dad was a rock and the strength of our family! He always showed the lesson in things that I needed to learn! He had a wonderful sense of humor, told amazing stories and taught me about the outdoors!  He leaves a huge hole in my life! I miss you and Love you Dad!

Russell and I were so sad to hear of the passing of Guy. He, Sheri and Linda have been sitting in front of us a church. We have grown to love them so much. He will truly be missed.

Condolences to family 🙏 Outstanding asset to the appraisal professional and mentor to many including myself.

Guy was much more than a boss to me — he was my mentor for over 27 years and a valued friend even longer.  Over the years, I learned so much from his integrity, humor and level-headedness. I would enter his office in a rant, and he generously listened without judgment or repercussions.  He ALWAYS took the high road. My fondest memories are of us driving to Austin to pick up the Property Value Study results, even once they became available online.  We would listen to classic  country singers and guess who the artists were. He always knew.  He would talk lovingly about his family - his wife, his sons, and the wonderful grandkids!  I will always cherish our conversations and the friendship we built, especially as we navigated our individual decisions to retire from HCAD.  Our friendship continued into retirement as we traded stories on knee replacements and other “joys” of aging.   His influence on my life will never be forgotten.  
My deepest sympathy to Sheri and the rest of the Griscom family.

My heart is truly broken. Guy was not only a longtime coworker, but also a dear friend.  My deepest condolences go out to his wife, his sons and the entire Griscom family during this incredibly difficult time. May you rest in peace now, my friend. You will be deeply missed. 💔

Another time of the year I looked forward to year after year.  A lovely time had by all each time.

I always enjoyed our joint birthday parties together. A special occasion I looked forward to every year.

My condolences to the family of a loved one.  I am grateful for the chance to meet Mr. Guy Griscom at HCAD.  He was indeed a remarkable instructor and ensured his students received the best education, skills possible to pass his course.  Thank you, Mr. Guy Griscom.  Rest in peace.
