Jackie "Jack" Moore Wood

Jack Wood of Conroe, Texas passed away Saturday, October 13th, 2018. He was born in Mission, Tx. on March 16th, 1942 to Clyde Harvey and Margie Lucille Stringfellow Wood. Jack was the seventh child of their eight children. At the age of 16, he married the love of his life, Margie Lee Whitehurst. They enjoyed 50 plus years of marriage and had four children.

Jack started working at an early age in the oil field and worked his way up to a salesman position with Dresser Ind. In the early 80’s he branched out on his own as a drilling consultant, which he retired from in 2008. During his last years, Jack was cared for by his sister in law and companion, Becky Hubbard.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, oldest son Gary Lynn Wood and wife Margie. He is survived by his children, Teresa Wood Britton and husband Ted, Jeff Wood and wife Rachel, Russell Wood and wife Lisa, his grandsons Jacob Britton and wife Katy, Shane Britton and wife Mandy, Corey Wood, Zachary Britton and wife Hillary, his granddaughters, Erika Wood, Hali Wood and Peyton Wood. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Cayden, Quinn, Abby, Maddie and Collins Britton. He is survived by his sister Margie Wilhite and brother in law Marvin Gunn as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
