James Lawton Adams was born January 10, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Homer William Adams and Vera Son Adams. He passed away July 25, 2018 in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 67. James graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BA in Chemical Engineering and worked in the oil and gas industry. James was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was also loved and admired by his co-workers at Shell. James is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley Jean Adams of Conroe, Texas; sons, Derek Adams of Conroe, Texas, Richard Adams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Chris Adams and wife Mercedes of The Woodlands, Texas; grandchildren, Karabella Beasley , Kailah Beasley, Logan Adams and Brenna Adams; sister, Beverly Ann Sparks of Coweta, Oklahoma. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 6-8pm. The Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the April Sound Church at 1pm with Pastor Dowen Johnson officiating with a reception following the service at the church.
