Jeanette Brice, born on October 16, 1933, to proud parents Arthur and Almeta Wiggins of Wigginsville, TX, peacefully passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 90. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Growing up in Wigginsville with four siblings, Jeanette learned valuable life lessons that shaped her into a strong, compassionate woman. The challenges and joys of a close-knit family taught her to love fiercely, value hard work, stand her ground, portray loyalty, and fight for what she believed in.
Jeanette graduated from Conroe High School in the early 1950s, earning the title of “Conroe’s Campus Cutie.” Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Billy Brice, on October 11, 1953. The couple welcomed three sons into their lives, whom Jeanette adored beyond measure.
The Brice family settled in Centerville, Louisiana, where they passionately cheered on their sons during their athletic pursuits. As the years passed, Bill and Jeanette embraced the joys of becoming grandparents and great-grandparents with open hearts. Returning to their roots, the couple later settled in Conroe, Texas. This move allowed them to be closer to family and friends.
Jeanette’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She made it a priority to spend quality time with her loved ones, creating cherished memories. Her talents extended to homemaking, where she crafted special items such as her famous “Hunterberry Jelly,” quilts, cross-stitched Christmas stockings, and clothing with matching hairbows. As a skilled seamstress, Jeanette was adept at creating her skirts and accessories to match. You could see her light up when people complimented her attire and appreciated her work. Her love for traveling with family, gardening, and Western movies showcased her diverse interests. Jeanette’s warmth, generosity, and creativity endeared her to everyone who knew her.
Jeanette Brice was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Almeta Wiggins, her husband, Billy Brice, son Bobby Brice, and siblings Arthur Earl Wiggins, Dewanna Stowe, and Marcus Wiggins.
She is survived by her oldest son, Billy Brice, and wife, Bonnie; youngest son, Barry Brice; sister, Carolyn Knight and husband, James; grandchildren Penny Philip and husband, Mark; Jodi Christie and husband Clint, Brandon Brice and wife Brittany, Brittany Bernard and husband Jacob, great-grandchildren Hunter Wilson and Carter Christie, Stuart Philip, Colton and Mason Brice, and Finley and Sophia Bernard, along with numerous other family members and friends.
Jeanette’s legacy of love, strength, hard work, loyalty, and creativity will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know and cherish her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the everlasting love she generously gave throughout her remarkable life.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 beginning at 2:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe,Texas. Immediately following will be a graveside service at Conroe Memorial Park.
