Jeffrey (Jeff as he is known to his friends), was born in Pasadena, Texas and moved with his family to the Conroe area at age 7. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1975 where he was a pitcher for the Tiger’s baseball team before hurting his arm. After two years of college he entered the Navy and began training in their Navigation Academy. After his honorable discharge, Jeff began working in the oil exploration field where he navigated seismic survey vessels in various regions of the world. While doing this, Jeff also learned the occupation of subsea mapping of the ocean floor and continued in this profession for many years.
Jeff enjoyed sharing his global adventures with his friends and family and he had a strong interest in the many cultures and politics of the world. Those that really knew Jeff knew he had a strong interest in fairness and taking up for and defending the rights of any person he felt was being mistreated.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd F. Burns and his mother, Darl M. Burns both of Wells, TX. Jeffrey L. Burns is survived by his brothers Phillip H. Burns and Perry A. Burns, nephews Christopher L. Burns, Logan P. Burns and Ryan P. Burns and niece Leanne E. DuPree.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in Houston National Cemetery. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cashnerconroe.com for the Burns family.
