Jerrell L. Holloway, 80, of Conroe, Texas went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 18th, 2024. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 4th, 1943, to Father, Jerrell D. Holloway and Mother, Mary Jane (Blevins) Holloway.
When he was young, he developed his love for bass fishing from his Uncle Jim who taught him how to fly fish. During his youth he spent a lot of his time with his two cousins – Gary and Ricky Moore. He went to high school at Little Rock Central High School, played football and his team won the Arkansas high school state championship in 1960. After graduation he was married and attended the University of Arkansas in Little Rock and graduated with a degree in chemistry. Following college, Jerrell joined the Navy and went through Officer Candidates’ School before an injury during training activities cut short his military career. After leaving the Navy, Jerrell began the search for a new profession and during one interview, was advised that he should consider sales, which was a natural fit and the start of his lengthy career in Biomedical Sales. He worked for Vitek/ McDonnell Douglas for most of his career. After leaving Vitek, he wanted to help teach others what he had learned and started a company doing sales training with Brian Tracy.
In November 1973 he met the love of his life, Mandy McBride, and on April 5th, 1974, they were married in Houston, TX. The next 40 years they spent together was truly the happiest time in his life.
His other hobbies included playing golf and listening to music. His favorite singers were Elvis Presley, Johnny Mathis, and Celine Dion. When he was on a high school trip to Memphis, he and his friends saw Elvis in his car and were able to get his autograph, a story he proudly told for years.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching Emma at her horse shows and taking Evan and Kate fishing on his bass boat.
We are comforted knowing that Jerrell was a true believer and held a personal relationship with Christ. He KNEW that finality on Earth would be the beginning of the most beautiful of lives, one spent with his Lord in the paradise of Heaven.
He is preceded in death by his wife Amanda McBride Holloway and son Scott Holloway.
He is survived by his daughter Allison Short and husband Gary, Son Greg Holloway and Olga Stevens and grandchildren Evan Day Holloway - 24, Katherine Grace Holloway - 21, Emma Rose Short – 17.
