In 1983 I lived with Jonell and her three lovely kids in Tomball TX. I was only 22 years old and worked as an au-pair and I have so many wonderful memories from this time. A time that left footprints in my heart forever. Jonell was both an extra Mother and a friend to rely on. So smart and always so kind. We have kept the contact since and I was so heartbroken to hear that she had passed away.

I had the pleasure of working with Jonell for the past several years. What I can say is she was a special person who will always hold a special place in my heart. In our field you often come across “experts” who lack a touch of humanity. Jonell was the rare combination of being on top of her field and having a heart for others she encountered. She always did everything she could to help if you ever came to her looking for assistance. You always felt like she genuinely cared about you and your family’s well being outside of work. I am forever grateful for all the opportunities and knowledge Jonell shared with me. I considered Jonell a mentor and I am so lucky to have been able to grow and advance under her guidance. I give my condolences to her husband, family and all her friends. May god bless you all during this difficult time. (The photo was one of our last times in the field together. Jonell was always a go getter and I admired  how she would still be out there showing me how it’s done)

Jonell was one of the kindest person I have been blessed to meet.. through her teaching she provided me a future and career that impacted my life in ways that I can not express.

I met Miss Jonell only last March in Birmingham AL. All of her NACE Inspectors were busy so she came and inspected Magellan Midstream Partners internal epoxy tank liner herself.  She was a real professional that took care of business! I'm sorry to hear of her passing. She will be missed by the industry.

Jonell and I were cheerleaders in high school together, as well as classmates and good friends. We had many fun times together throughout High school and college. She always had a smile on her face and something positive to say. I lost a dear friend and she will be missed. Cathey Pribble Williams

Jim and I were shocked when Lesley texted us about Jonell’s passing. We have great memories of playing tennis and swim team  activities. She was a great mom and friend. She will be missed. Our condolences, prayers and peace for the entire family.

I knew Jonell as “ Honey Josie” and met her through her Grandchildren. She was a warm, caring and compassionate woman and you always felt welcomed in her home. My Deepest sympathies go out to Roy and the Family.  I know she will be Dearly missed by all ! 

When i was about 4 years young, i was in the back of Jonell's black 1970 Ford pickup and my little sister Tully Snow Nixon was 2 years young and was in the front seat when Jonell (mom) stopped at the post office in Pickton, Texas to drop off a letter at the front of the post office. There was no drive thru drop boxes there, so she just got out for 10 seconds to drop it off at the front and come right back. Since it was a small town she left the engine running. To my fright Tully decided to reach over and pull the truck into gear and i hear one of the fellas in overalls sitting on the bench calmly say, "ma'am i believe your kids are driving off with your truck". I could not crawl thru the window even if i wanted to and i didn't know how to drive anyway. I was completely panicked. Tully is actually steering the truck like its a toy and those trucks move about 10 mph at idle. Luckily she couldn't reach the gas peddle, and so Jonell freaked out, ran like Wonder Woman with her big purse over her shoulder, letter still in-hand, and chased us down, opened the door, jumped in and saved the day, otherwise, i might not be here to tell this story today.

Amanda and I are shocked and saddened to see this. We have so enjoyed your visits to Colorado and the meals and conversations we have shared. I cannot think of the right words to express our grief. Jonell was such a pleasure to be with, always pleasant with kind words and acts. We are sending our love and prayers to you and your family. 

Jo Beth and I were so saddened to hear from David of Jonell’s passing. Since becoming best friends with David in the 7th grade (and still are), I have such fond memories of Jonell during those junior high and high school years. She had continued to treat me as family and I considered that such an honor. 
To Roy, David, Judy, and the rest of your family, we pray our Heavenly Father will wrap His arms around you and give you a sense of pease as you have never felt before.
