

Joseph Louis Lacambra, Sr was born on April 18, 1940 in Valencia, Spain to Eduardo and Joaquina Lacambra. Joseph(Joe) immigrated to the United States at the age of fifteen, settling in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After graduating high school, Joe began a distinguished, 20 year career in the United States Navy, where he rose from the enlisted ranks to the rank of Lieutenant. During that time, he served two tours in Vietnam. At the time of his Naval retirement, Joe also completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from St. Leo University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
After retiring from the U. S. Navy, Joe entered the public business sector for second career in manufacturing that would take him from Hopkinsville (KY), Brownsville (TX), Merida(MX), Germantown(TN), El Paso(TX), Columbus(IN), and finally to Chicago(IL). Along the way he would serve in multiple positions from Plant Manager to Executive Vice President at various companies.
Joe's second retirement would bring him to The Woodlands, TX, where he could devote his time to family, tennis and travel. Joe traveled far and wide during his retirement, just as he had in the Navy and in Business. Joe made many friends along the way, and was known for his professionalism and integrity. To all that knew him, Joe's passion for the game of tennis was legendary.
Joe was preceded in death by his eldest son, Robert, and his parents. Joe is survived by his wife Maricela, sons Joseph(Jr), Christopher, Daniel and daughter Karen Lacambra. Grandaughters Jessica, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Emily, Jacquelynn and Kimberly. Sisters, Blanca, Lucia, Mireya and Margarita. Brothers, Eduardo, Carlos and Vicente, as well as many nieces and nephews.
