Kenneth McDonald, born February 21, 1960, to Era Elsie McDonald and Billy Joe McDonald, entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2026. His passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving his family, friends, and all who knew him deeply saddened. Though the loss is profound, Kenneth leaves behind a meaningful legacy of faith, service, love, and unwavering devotion to family.
Kenneth was a devoted and loving father to his three children, Brandon, Bradley, and Brittany, who were the greatest joys of his life. He loved them fiercely and supported them unconditionally. He also warmly welcomed his daughters-in-law, Katlyn (wife of Brandon) and Amber (wife of Bradley), into his heart and family. Kenneth was especially proud to be “Papa” to his two beloved granddaughters, Aubrey and Ainsley. They brought him endless joy, and the love he shared with them will forever be cherished.
A man of deep faith, Kenneth was a devout Christian whose life was guided by his love for God. His faith was evident in the way he lived—through kindness, humility, generosity, and a heart for serving others.
Kenneth proudly served the City of Houston as a police officer with the Houston Police Department for 38 years. After joining the department and completing the police academy in 1984, he built a long and distinguished career marked by dedication, courage, and integrity. He saved many lives, earned numerous awards and commendations, and formed lifelong friendships with the colleagues he served alongside.
Service extended far beyond his career. Kenneth was an avid volunteer and generous supporter of community causes, especially those benefiting children and families in need. He volunteered at toy drives, back-to-school and Christmas events, Special Olympics, and organizations supporting children with terminal illnesses. He was always willing to help a friend, neighbor, or stranger.
Kenneth loved to travel, from international destinations to cruises, but his favorite places were the snowy mountains of Montana and Colorado. Above all else, his greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Kenneth was the youngest of three brothers and is survived by his brothers, Randy McDonald and Danny McDonald. He was a good man—deeply loved, widely respected, and cherished by many. While the grief of his passing is profound and words can never fully express how much he is missed, his life stands as a testament to love, faith, service, and kindness that will continue to live on in all whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, located at 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX, 77303, on January 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
