

He was gone suddenly from a heart attack on 11/17/2017. He was 68. Larry was a man that loved the Lord Jesus first, his family, his farm, his country and he dearly loved The Marine Corps. Larry was born in Mobile, Alabama on December 31, 1948. His parents were Edwina Havens and Radford Guy. He spent time on his Grandpa's dairy in Alabama as a child. He moved to Houston and was an honored little league player winning the MVP award for the whole city of Houston. He loved Baseball and also He loved Alabama Football. He went to Catholic School Our Lady of Fatima until he went to North Shore HS and was the starting Quarterback. At an early age he joined his Uncle Milton as a Merchant Marine and traveled the world. When the Vietnam War escalated and the draft was implemented he joined the Marine Corps in 1968. He served our country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. He went on to be an elite member of the 3rd Battalion 3rd division, Charlie Company Recon Team. He married Beverly Juneau and they have 4 children, Dana Green, Stephanie Lorentzos, Priscilla Giesler, and Kermit Guy. He had a beloved Step-son Russell Bruney and numerous grandchildren. He served as a Houston Police Officer for 10 years. He worked street level narcotics on a task force team that received many Chief of Police commendations. In 1987 He met and married his life partner Debby Taliaferro Guy. They remained together every day for the next 30 years. There was not a word unsaid between them. Not a thought unspoken. In that, it gives great peace and comfort. He wanted to be buried with his brothers at The Houston National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 10:30am to 11:30am with the Funeral Service starting at 11:30am at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. The graveside service will take place at The Houston National Cemetery at 1:30pm with military honors.
