Lela "Lee" Beth Mills

Lela (Lee) Beth Fowler Mills, 94, of Conroe passed away December 14, 2025. Born in Osage, Texas on July 3, 1931 to Oscar Leonard & Letha Leona (Touchstone) Fowler, she was the youngest of six children.

She married William Jack Mills on December 22, 1951 where she followed Bill to Air Force bases around the United States until his retired in June 1970. Mrs. Mills worked for Steele Page and Madeley for 50 years until her reluctant retirement in 2021at the age of 90.

Lee loved to sing and joined several Acapella groups throughout the years. She was a Ceramic enthusiast and loved to play the piano & organ. She loved to sew and was extremely gifted. She made her own wedding dress and many other beautiful outfits. Lee enjoyed making pillows and gifting them to family and friends, along with being an enthusiast creator of wreaths. She attended the First Baptist Church of Conroe and was a member of the Uplifter Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and siblings. Those to cherish her memory are her sons, Jack & Kim Mills; Scott & Risha Mills; six grandchildren, Christopher Mills, Kathryn Mills, Sara Jackson (Rick), Brad Mills, Samantha Powell and Anastasia Mills (Munib); two great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emilia; Numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for Mrs. Mills will be Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Home. She will be buried at the Yates Center Cemetery in Kansas. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Lee’s names to the First Baptist Church of Conroe.
