Linda Joyce Sledge Johnson, 72, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2019, with her loving family by her side. She was born in 1946, In Navasota, Texas to Aubrey Lee Sledge and Joyce Adkins. In 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Olin Johnson. They were a devoted and loving couple for 57 years.
Linda and Olin moved to Conroe in 1974, and later to Montgomery in 2010. She worked for and retired from Consolidated Communications after 24 years. Linda enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and was a member of Lone Star Cowboy Church.
Affectionately known as “Granny”, her loving kindness and genuine interest in others made her a role model of an outstanding daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Her love and devotion to her family was apparent to everyone who knew her. Granny was truly one of a kind. She loved her family fiercely and everyone knew it. Her spunkiness, hilarious sense of humor, and her loving heart will truly be missed.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Olin Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Roan; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Tracy Huffman; grandchildren and spouses, Cole and Tina Henderson, Cali and Chad Hudson, Garet Norton, Beau and Alissa Roan, Keaton and Kyla Roan, Tanner Huffman, and Nicki Roan; She is also survived by her precious great-granddaughters, Kaysen and Kora Henderson, Lilah Roan, and Konlee Roan; her mother, Joyce Adkins; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Peggy Adkins.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 5th , at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, February 6th at Cashner Funeral Home followed by the burial at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota, Texas.
