A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lionel Perez Salazar will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Lionel was born June 17, 1925 and entered the Gates of Heaven to stand guard with his fellow U.S. Marines, Semper Fi on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Lionel proudly and with honor served our country in the Marine Corp. His tour included WWII South Pacific Battles. His dedication to protecting our great country and his fellow Marines made him a recipient of not one, but two purple hearts for his act of bravery and going above and beyond what needed to be done by him to carry out his mission. On August 10, 1947; Lionel married the love of his life, Lucinda. Lionel graduated from Texas A&I in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree. After graduation from Texas A&I, Lionel worked for the United Gas Pipeline as a SR Accountant until his retirement in 1986 at which he moved to the Conroe. He was a member of the local Marine Corp League and the last president of the Fourth Marine Division for the Houston Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Lucinda; children, Sonia, Fred, Ana and Teresa along with their families. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
