Louise was born in the mountains of Tennessee where she would tell stories about crossing three states to go to school as a child. She moved to Texas with her parents when she was 15 years of age and attended Milby High School. Later she met the love of her life Donald E. Grissom married in 1956, in Houston, Texas. They lived in Houston until 1971 when they moved to Conroe where they settled and raised their two sons. Louise’s desire was always to return to the mountains so after the passing of her husband Don and son Rickey, Louise returned home in 1995 where she lived her life Pioneering as a Jehovah’s Witness and enjoying the beauty of the Bowman’s homestead. Only to return in 2022 to live out her last remaining years with her son Hoyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Grissom, son Rickey Grissom, her parents Boyd and Margarete Rogers, sister Elizabeth Christian and brother Tommy Rogers. Louise is survived by her son Hoyle Grissom, his children Lydia and James Thumann their children Hoyle and Sophia, Sarah and Roger Rodriquez, Jr., and Daniel Richard, her daughter-in-law Annette Grissom, brother Kenneth and wife Brenda Rogers, nephew Robert “Bob” Rogers, niece Linda Rogers along with her daughter Leslie Zaino and husband Joe and their children Elijah and Ashlyn, nephew Wayne and wife Scarlett Rogers along with their son Jeromey Rogers and wife Desire and their children Chesleigh, Cullen and Rory, Jimmy Rogers and his son Ryan Ince and his daughter Rachel and her husband Zane Shepard and their children Dexter, Piper, and Esme, niece Dodie L. and husband Kent “Slim” Martindale.
Graveside services for Louise are planned for Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery at 1600 Porter Road, Conroe. Texas.
