Mayhew Harrison

Mayhew Harrison, of Conroe, Texas, passed away July 19, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George A. Harrison, II and eight siblings. She is survived by her three children; daughter Jerrie McIlhaney and husband Rayford of Conroe, Texas; daughter Mary Muth and husband John of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son George (GA) Harrison III and wife Cherry of Westminster, Colorado; grandchildren Kerry McIlhaney and wife Lisa of Conroe, Texas, Natasha Hurty and husband Charles of Newport Oregon, Jodie Hicks and husband Brandon of Mulino, Oregon, Ginger Nalley and husband Charlie of Nashville, Tennessee and Joy Harrison of Brighton, Colorado and eight great-grandchildren; siblings Frances Rice, Donald Taylor, Leon Taylor, William Taylor, LaWanda Duckworth, Marilyn Mitchell, Ida Delashaw and Kenneth Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Hendricks, Oklahoma on October 16, 1919, Mayhew married George A. Harrison II on April 13, 1938 in Madill, Oklahoma. They relocated to Odessa, Texas in 1941. She was a 27 year employee with JC Penney in Odessa before retiring. Mayhew moved to Conroe, Texas in 2006 and became an active and beloved member of the Longmire Road Church of Christ and Camelot Pines. Mayhew had a generous heart and welcomed all with love. In turn, she was loved by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Memorial Hermann Hospital – The Woodlands, and Park Manor in Conroe for their dedication and care.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 8-5 PM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10 AM at the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Minister John Helbig presiding.

Additionally, there will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 26, 2012 at 9:30-10:30AM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas.
