My husband was a wonderful provider and protector and the love of my life.  We were blessed to have such a strong and loving man taking care of us.  During our time of sorrow, we had several childhood friends (from over 25 years ago) of our daughters reach out to tell us that Pete made a impact in their teen years by being a positive father figure and providing acts of love and lessons they have never forgotten.  He is also known as the favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. He will be missed by so many!

My Po Po hasn't only been a grandfather and father figure to me, but he was to all of my friends as well.  Throughout my childhood, my friends always knew we'd have the best time if it took place at Ninny and Po Po's.  He's been so good to me and my family and never failed to make me feel like the most loved girl in the world.  He taught me to fish, drive, and even how to give buzz cuts and mohawks.  He never failed to make me laugh and could brighten any room with his jokes and infectious smile. I am so beyond grateful that he was MY PO PO!

We were so very fortunate to have had the kind of Man-of-all-men to provide for us, and not only teach us but show us what it is to love unconditionally, be kind, compassionate, genuine, and proud.  It is not by coincidence that so many have reached out to say our dad touched their lives.  He fought hard to stay here with "his girls".

Milton (Peewee) (Pete) (Popo) Weinzettle was funny, witty, happy, smart, kind, considerate and would do anything for anybody.
We became good friends when he was in his teens, dating my sister, and soon became a brother-in-law.   We were brothers for life and raised our families together and were always close. My kids and my mom and dad loved him dearly and he did them.  We hunted and fished together for years.  He was part of our Dilley hunting group. His last hunt with us was October 2022 before he knew he was sick. We celebrated him at our past hunt, this October. All of the guys agree that he was not only a good guy, he was someone special. He told the best jokes they ever heard. I hear the same things from my neighbors and friends that got to know him through me.  What a fine man he was.  Pete was a master welder and highly respected in his trade.  On the side, he built pits and grills that were a work of art, Pete's Beer Art as he called it!  He worked from a table in the garage that had a light and a beer holder on the side. He soldered horseshoe nails, barbed wire, and horseshoes into artwork.  He could have made good money from selling his creations but he instead gave them to friends and family.  I have mine on display.  I think his biggest accomplishment is his family. He was a phenomenal husband to my sister and raised two wonderful daughters, Tonya and Teresa. He helped raise his granddaughter Molly who recently told me, "He raised me like a daughter and he was like a father to me".  His love of life, love of family and friends, and hard work ethic are instilled in all of them.
Tara & Pete had a beautiful relationship. Tara worked tirelessly from the onset of his illness.  Her love and dedication to him was witnessed by all.  She was  the best advocate for his medical needs, coordinating medical care and taking extensive notes.  She fought with him until the very end. Goodbyes are temporary for loved ones as we will meet again.  Rest In Peace My Brother.

I grew up with Pete around as he was my dad's friend. As I grew up, Pete was always around to make my childhood special. He would throw coins in the pool for me and help with my crazy projects. I'd tell him about how I want to run coolant through a freezer for a wild PC build, and he would manufacture the tank I needed. As I got older and my plans got crazier, he was always someone I could rely on for advice. He even started to teach me to weld before I went off to school. He was always kind and went out of his way to help. I think he really just enjoyed seeing folks happy--as evidenced by his unlimited supply of jokes. That man was hilarious. I haven't a single bad memory of Pete. However my day was going, anytime he pulled into the driveway I knew my day was going to be even better. He was so selfless that if he was driving by and saw you struggling with your own project, he would spend all afternoon helping you--despite his own projects and worries.

Pete, I'll miss you. You were a great role model for what a kind and selfless man should be. I'll be doing my best to carry your kindness to me forward, as well as some of the jokes I can remember.

So sorry to hear this.  Pete was a good man and friend for over 50 years!  Rest in peace my friend and my God bless you and your family.

He will always be missed, our best fishing buddy.

I will definitely miss his jokes!  Didn't know a kinder, funnier man.  Karsyn and I were lucky to have him in our lives for the last 10 years.  I could have definitely used more.

So sorry. What an incredible man your father was.  When Mr. Pete told you something, take it to the bank.  Best welder on earth and just a damn good fella.  He will be missed.  Bless you and your family.

Pete was an amazing Dad, Husband, and friend full of love.  He was such a positive father figure to me growing up.  Love y'all.

A good man left us.  We are all better for knowing him and the empty place he left will never be filled.  Happy Trails Pete.

There's no measure for the love and respect I had for my Uncle Peewee.

You guys are a huge part of my life and he is as important as my dad to me.  That man was an inspiration to me, Matt, Roger, and Jordan.  We all looked up to him.

So very sorry for the loss of a Good Man and great friend.  I spent over 15 years working with Pete at Crane / Unidynamics where we collectively made some pretty incredible products for the Navy.  Pete liked to cut-up to take some of the tension off but was instrumental in the area of fab and weld.  He helped me succeed in my professional growth and we shared many beers and BBQ over the years.  I'm sure my homemade smoker has a few of his welds in it and he was the first to teach me about smoking meat.  Gone too soon but never forgotten.  Rest in Peace Pete.

Going bye our dear brother. You will be deeply missed but your memory will be carried in our hearts and minds. I know you are already building stuff in Heaven ❤️.

Pete, you made and fixed so many things in so many departments in the city, always well planned and thought out. I always enjoyed working with you. Thanks for sharing your artistic endeavors, Holly you had a talent. Rest in peace friend.

Dad loved to tell a joke. Sometimes they were Dad jokes, sometimes they were obscene. And a lot of times they were just stupid… but to see him laugh at his own dumb joke was the best!

Everyone loves my dad! You couldn’t walk into a room without seeing his smile and smiling back. 

Growing up, dad would never leave the house without saying I love you. The few times he forgot before cell phones, he would stop at a pay phone to say I’m sorry I forgot to tell you I love you.  I’m so going to miss his texts at random times that simply said, “Love you” !

A good person and a good neighbor.  My sincere condolences to Pete's family.
