Nell Allen, 80, passed on June 11, 2022, at home surrounded by family. She was born August 7, 1941, in Weinert, TX. She is the daughter of Danny Margaret Bicknell Rainey and Eulice Fields Rainey.
Nell graduated from Weinert High School as a Valedictorian. She continued to Texas Tech University with an English Major and a French Minor. She married her sweetheart, Frank Lester Allen on August 31, 1963 in Plainview, TX. They celebrated 58 year of marriage in August.
Nell had countless hobbies, including ceramics, knitting, quilting, gardening, and many more but she was best known for her sewing. She was an avid reader and loved to cook; but above all, family was everything.
She is predeceased by her mother, Margaret Rainey & her father, Eulice Rainey. Surviving in addition to her husband, Frank Allen of Conroe; are her daughter, Marla & her husband John Russell of Houston; her son, Eric Allen & his wife Nadine of Houston, her sister Retta & her husband Robert Hill of Odessa; her brother Gary Rainey of Andrews; and her brother Mike & his wife Loyce Rainey of Las Vegas; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces & nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Wednesday, June 15th at Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 1801 E. White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX 77304. The funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Thursday, June 16th at Metcalf Funeral Directors; followed by the burial at 3:00PM located at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Bob McBride, Andy Brown, Bobby Hill, Forrest Brandenburg, Clinton Russell, Cobi Allen, Butch Guidney and David Hazard.
