Nina was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston Texas and passed away at home surrounded by family. She was raised in a military family as her father served in the Air Force and her mother was a teacher.
Nina married the love of her life, Gary Gibson, on January 22, 1966 and were married for 45 years until his passing. She supported her husband as a chemist and then in his ministry as a pastor of the Methodist Church.
Nina had a love for lighthouses and was an avid collector. She welcomed a stranger with open arms and a smile and sought to make them feel welcomed. She was quick to offer a kind word to everyone around her. She would cry with you when you were sad, supportive when going through something, and rejoiced in the good times.
Nina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marguerite Byrnes, her loving husband, Gary Gibson, and her sister-in-law and friend, Lyndia Engstrom.
Nina leaves behind her sister, Ann Hastings and husband Gene. Her three children, Gary Gibson and wife Julia, Jennifer Gibson, Michelle Gibson and partner Billy Hardy and his children. Her eleven grandchildren: Andrew Thorpe and wife Melony, Aaron Gibson, Nathan Thorpe and fiancée Sarah Vasek, Kristen Dyer and husband Jesse, Ashley Aldridge and husband Chase, Matthew Wagner and fiancée Maddy Dupre, Alisha Hernandez and fiancé Taylor Lisk, Michael Wagner, Jonathan Thorpe, Danielle Hernandez, and Brandon Gibson.
