

On December 12th ,early morning, Noreen Ehler-Scott passed away peacefully at the age of 86, she got her wings and went to walk with the lord and his angles and rejoin her heavenly family. Born in Independence, Iowa to Luther L Morton and Thelma J Morton, their first child of five.
She grew up in Independence, and was a popular young lady, as she was home coming queen in high school, and attended Luther College in Decorah Iowa. She married her high school sweetheart , and latter, worked for Rath-Blackhawk meats as an industrial artist in their marketing department.
Noreen was an exceptional mother, caring deeply for her family, because of who she was. She was a frugal woman, who loved to save money for the family. She was an accomplished amateur artist and enjoyed drawing sketches of the people and things close to her heart. She enjoyed reading bedtime stories to her children and playing games with them. Later while living in Houston she took up square dancing, and traveled throughout the nation whit her husband, Larry, dancing their hearts out. She was even able to teach herself to play the piano. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Noreen.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Scott, son, Jonathan Ehler and parents, Luther L Morton and Thelma J Morton, sisters, Sheryl and Linnea.
Noreen is survived by her brothers, Dr. Luther J Morton, and David Morton, sister, Ingrid Morton – Groth, four children, Joel (Pat), Peter (Steven), Mark (Sylvia), and Stephen (Sherry) Ehler, goddaughter, Robyn Lane, first husband, Charles L. Ehler, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to her caregiver of 4 years, Rhonda Glover and long life friends Cathy and Linda.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:00am in Garden Park Cemetery.
