Patricia Sue Marshall passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born in Goose Creek, Texas on June 23, 1945, to Sydney and Bonnie Dent. She was the middle daughter in the family, and is preceded in death by both her parents, her sisters, Shirley and Sidney, along with her first grandchild, Jason Puffer.
Trish is survived by her husband, Wylie Marshall, as well as her children, Robin Jostandt (husband, Jeff), Todd Thompson (wife, Lori), Sharon VanSchuyver (husband, John) and Shelley Justice (husband, Bill). Trish, affectionately referred to as “Nana,” has 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Trish’s life was full, taking many twists and turns, but ultimately, she was known for the heart she had for children. Even in her final days, she continued to ask about “the children.” While she had her own children to corral, she also served as a Girl Scout troop leader for her church family. Beyond that, she also served in the church as a cheerleading coach, organizer of youth variety shows, and a helper at preteen camps. Finding great joy in helping others, she later became an advocate for children through CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of Montgomery County, helping children in the foster/adoptive system find placement when they were displaced from their homes. She was able to continue this work until 2015, at which time she suffered several strokes, which slowed her down a bit… but only a bit.
Along with her love for children, Trish spent countless years on the tennis court. She was in various leagues and has many trophies that attest to her abilities. When she wasn’t doing her fancy footwork on the tennis court, she was on the dance floor. Her love for dancing and music was very near and dear to her.
Some of her greatest accomplishments were undoubtedly raising four children to adulthood, mostly as a “single mom.” She worked various jobs throughout the years, but her greatest professional accomplishment was running a business of her own, PDA Enterprises.
A visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on December 26, 2025, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.
