

Phyllis joined the United States NAvy Nurse Corps during World War II as a commissioned officer Ensign ranking and leaving the Navy Reserves as a Lieutenant JG. During her Navy Service Phyllis was nurse to German Prisoners of war in Moffett Field Navy Air Station in California.
After her military service, she returned to the Ozarks and married Captain Torrance Inman. They had three daughters, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews scattered from coast to coast and in Europe.
She has lived in Montgomery County, Texas for fifty four years. Phyllis has been a longtime member of Grace Crossing Church on 1488. She raised Arabian horses and did not quit riding until the age of 78. Her horse ranch was located on Old Conroe Road for 35 years where she enjoyed competitive trail riding and many Arabian horse shows including the Houston Livestock Show and longtime member in the Gulf Coast Arabian Horse Club. She retired and was a homeowner in the Windsor Lakes Active Senior Community where she enjoyed twenty years of good neighbors and lovely friends.
Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, US, on May 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location beginning at 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will immediately follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
