It's with a heavy heart that I'm sharing some sad news about our beloved Phyllis. For those who knew her, you'll remember a woman who truly lived life to the fullest, guided by her unwavering faith, immense love for her family, and a knack for making friends everywhere she went.
Born on July 25, 1952, Phyllis had this incredible gift for connecting with people; she truly never met a stranger! Her circle of friends just kept expanding because she welcomed everyone with such genuine warmth and kindness. She packed so much into her life, from boating and water sports back in the 80s to hitting the dance floor for country western music in the 90s. She always embraced life with such infectious enthusiasm!
She had an eye for color and fashion. This was obvious in her home and the way she dressed.
Phyllis also built an impressive career as a successful entrepreneur, creating and sustaining a business focused on corporate sales tax recovery for many years. She approached her work with the same amazing energy and grace that she brought to every other aspect of her life.
At the core of who Phyllis was, stood her strong faith. She loved sharing her beliefs and, through her church, took on the role of a spiritual mentor to women incarcerated in the Harris County Jail system. She embraced that role with so much compassion and humility, making a real difference in countless lives.
Remember her gentle nature, that infectious joyous spirit, her bright smile, and those sparkling eyes? She truly lit up every room she walked into. Everyone who knew her will tell you it wasn't just *how* she lived, but *how she made you feel* – always welcome, uplifted, and so deeply loved.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Marl A. “Dutch” Weimer, III; her brother Eugene Ivy; sister-in-law Melanie Taylor and stepson Travis Weimer. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Wilburn and Argie Dean Ivy and her brother Eddie Ivy. Other family members and friends are left to cherish her memory.
We'll be gathering to remember Phyllis at Metcalf Funeral Directors on Sunday, December 7th located at 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe TX. There will be a viewing and visitation from 1-4 PM, with the service itself starting at 2 PM. The burial will take place on Monday, December 8th at 11:00 Am in the Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston Tx 77038
Her memory will undoubtedly continue to bring comfort and inspiration to everyone whose lives she touched.
