Richard Horseley Burks Jr.

Richard was a loving husband to his wife, a great father, and a horse trainer by trade for 60 years. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association for many years and enjoyed traveling to rodeos around the country. Richard was an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years Doris Marie Burks, his parents, and brother Barry Jones. He is survived by his son Jesse Burks and wife Tasha, granddaughter Katarina Burks, siblings Pam Boyd, Bootie Barth, Cindy Sieck, and Marty Jones.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Garden Park Cemetery.
