Robert ‘Bruce’ Oyler, 70, of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2021, surrounded by family at Conroe Regional Medical Center. Born on July 26, 1950, in Rushville, Indiana, to Bill Oyler (Deceased) and Betty Oyler (Deceased). He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Oyler, and his step-children Chris (Diana) Huebner, Scott Huebner, and Lauren (Robert) Sheninger. Bruce is also survived by siblings William ‘Bill’ Oyler of Winchester, Virginia, Dan Oyler of Richmond, Virginia, Becky (Larry) O’Neal of Galveston, Texas, and Melony Oyler of Bolivar, Texas. Bruce is also survived by nieces and nephews William “Bill” Oyler, Marcy Oyler, Lindsey M (Chad) Blancett, Larry “Mitchell” O’Neal, Matthew W O’Neal (Deceased), Michael Meadows, and Olivia Farrar. Bruce is also survived by step grandchildren Madison and Alivia Sheninger of Houston, Texas, and Alex, Faith, Roman and Makenna Hernandez of Spring, Texas.
Bruce was an avid and outgoing athlete as a young man, lettering in Wrestling, Baseball and football, where he was Captain of his Football team his senior year. Bruce enlisted in the Navy after Highschool, earning the rank of E5 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service to our country. Upon returning to civilian life, Bruce earned a degree in Environmental Health and Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Bruce lived most of his life in Houston and the Lake Conroe area, started his own safety business and was married to his wife Connie Oyler for over 20 years. Bruce loved his family and the water, but not the high taxes of living on it. He loved to fish-he did not like to eat them. He was an avid dog lover, but he did not care for cats. He loved the Lord, and that’s all that matters in the end. Services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
